Vice President of Application Delivery

Common Securitization Solutions (CSS) is seeking an experienced Vice President of Application Delivery to join our team of talented professionals. This is a full-time remote opportunity. 

 

CSS built and operates the largest and most advanced mortgage securitization platform in the world, supporting the Uniform Mortgage-Backed Security (UMBS) of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Job Information

 

The Vice President of Application Delivery plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the entire lifecycle of our applications ensuring seamless and optimized application development and delivery services, including testing, quality assurance, and ongoing operational excellence.

 

Reporting to the CTO, you will lead a high performing application development team, establish applicable strategy and roadmaps, review proposals, oversee development teams working on different products across various projects, develop best practices for operations to follow and integrate them into the workflow with enhanced automation and observability, and set standards for application developments with governance incorporated into the design ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

 


Key Job Functions

 

  • Partner with business leaders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with architecture and operations.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for application development and delivery operations aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to ensure alignment between technology initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high performing application development team to engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritize projects and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.
  • Oversee the end-to-end application development process, from ideation to deployment.
  • Lead a team managing all aspects of application development and delivery across multiple functions, business units and business lines.
  • Effectively initiate, plan, schedule, control, and bring to closure multiple high priority projects.
  • Develop and lead a collaborative and Agile software development approach that improves velocity, while maintaining a strong focus on both quality and scalability.
  • Drive the cultural changes necessary to enable a continuous delivery model, and foster a strong focus on automation of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Foster a strong customer service mind-set throughout the application development team, while championing thought leadership and partnership with the business.
  • Partner with business leaders to create robust solution roadmaps that are integrated with architecture and operations.
  • Seek out, validate, and bring to the technology organization innovative best practices and ideas from the outside, with a particular emphasis on application development methodologies.
  • Ensure that all application development initiatives are well managed and delivered to meet expectations on functionality, timeliness, and cost.
  • Ensure the development team follows best practices, coding standards, and agile methodologies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the application development and delivery operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to application development, delivery, and operations.
  • Implement strategies to ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance and testing processes to ensure the reliability and performance of applications.
  • Implement measures to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Implement monitoring and analytics tools to track application performance and user experience.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and scalability improvements
  • Partner with internal customers to develop training and deployment plans aimed at maximizing both user adoption and realization of business benefits.
  • Implement and champion a robust professional development program, and continuously upskill team members to keep them current.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education  

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification(s) relative to technology platforms, industry standards, and environments, and in information security, data management and other risk management disciplines are required.

 

Minimum Experience  

 

  • A minimum of 10 years in software development, project management, process development and resource management.
  • Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology
  • Has successfully led development and delivery of multiple complex business technology solutions into production that have achieved or surpassed business goals.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and developments in cloud, AI, machine learning and other digital technologies.

Pay Range $297,000 to $328,000

CSS’s pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law. CSS offers a competitive total compensation package, which includes a performance bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage, PTO, and a broad range of other benefits.
